So I'm guessing it was more like book 6 lol sorry if I'm confusing you lol).
The Vampire Diaries #1 Ok the vampire diaries. First yes I get why they have this cover, but when she has dark hair and Elena has blonde, it's just weird. Elana fancies a boy, the boy Stefan is a vampire, she wants him, he is scared for her sake, they get together. That was the short version. First, 17 year old girl, 500 year old vampire, eww. When the series came out I was quite disappointed with it because none of the characters descriptions in my opinion matched the descriptions in the book (In the book Bonnie is short a curly redhead. So I pictured someone that looked more like a teen version of Annie. Not a super pretty black girl with dark hair. So that really threw me for a loop, as well as the Steffan and Damon characters I pictured them looking quite different as well.
Also, much of the storyline and events that happen in the book don't show up in the show at all. I would say at least give the first 2 or 3 books a read and see if they are your cup of tea, but don't expect them to be like the show at all because they are two different beasts. Its entirely different than the tv show.the protagonists have nothing to do with the ones in the show for example helena in the books is blonde and its entirely different than the tv show.the protagonists have nothing to do with the ones in the show for example helena in the books is blonde and blue eyed.my opinion?dont bother reading if you want it to be exactly like th tv show.you'd better do what i did, think of these books as an entirely different story that are in no way related to the series.
